Government Affairs Committee

Wednesday of each month @ 3:00pm

Where: Chamber office

This committee monitors local, state, and national legislation and political concerns that impact business and the community.  The GAC recommends Chamber positions on ballot measures, participates in educating the public in aspects of government operations and compliance issues and sponsors candidate forums.

Economic Development Committee

Thursday of each month @ 2:00pm

Where: Chamber office

This committee monitors local Malibu business with the challenge of constantly repositioning themselves to help local members stay competitive in an ever-changing, global economy. Constantly assessing and determining strategies for strengthening and maintaining the local economy, focusing on improving or enhancing the local economy and adding tourism affairs and outreach through the Visitors Center.  (Sister City/Visitor Foundation)

Environmental Affairs Committee

Thursday @ 4:00pm

Where: Malibu Chamber of Commerce office

With the 27 miles of coastal access, Malibu has a very important position to participate in and recommend to business owners and the public on issues relating to keeping our coastline safe and healthy.   This committee provides workshops, as well as the Wallflower Festival & Eco Home Tour & Expo in April.

Membership Affairs

Monday, @ 4:00 pm

Where: Chamber office

The Chamber Ambassador Program provides volunteer support at all chamber events, and participates in welcoming new members to the Malibu Chamber of Commerce.  This committee participates in all ribbon cutting events and ceremonies by helping set up the project from beginning to the end.

Communication Affairs:  

When:  1st Thursday of each month @ 2pm

Where: Malibu Chamber of Commerce office

Partnering together with members to create a marketing, publicity/advertising/communication think tank to develop, implement and support the strategies of a business member.  This team works to increase the short and long term goals of business support and growth for members of the Chamber.
