About Us

B.W. Baker Insurance has been the largest locally-owned insurance agency in Malibu for over 20 years. We are a multi-line insurance agency affiliated with the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies that was founded in 1985 to serve the unique insurance needs of Malibu residents. Our long-standing partnership with Farmers has given us the ability to provide friendly, local service paired with the financial strength of one of America’s top insurers.
Our founder and owner, Bart Baker, moved to Malibu to raise his family in 1980. Together with his wife, Wendy, Bart founded and sold multiple businesses before deciding to focus exclusively on insurance. Bart and Wendy started B.W. Baker Insurance in a small office on Point Dume in Malibu and successfully grew the business into one of the top Farmers Agencies in the country.
