SUMMARY:20th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Monday\, November 11\, 2019\nJoin the Malibu City Council\, commissioners\, local businesses\, schools\, residents and community-based organizations in honoring all those men and women who serve and have served our nation in the military. Captain John Payne will serve as MC. A local Boy Scout troop will conduct the flag salute. Live performances include a dance routine by L.A. Swing Dance Posse and patriotic songs by Kathy Bee\, Destiny Malibu\, Yolanda Tolentino and local Malibu High and middle school students. Malibu Poet Laureate Ricardo Means Ybarra will read a patriotic poem he wrote to commemorate Veterans Day. The Navy Cadets will post and retire the flags. Flags from Pepperdine's annual 9/11 memorial flag exhibition will be displayed along the road leading up to City Hall. The Boy Scouts will distribute American flag pins to all attending Veterans and service members. A free reception with refreshments is open to all guests following the ceremony.
