Giant Sequoias and Climate Change: A Virtual Reality Event
Please join Sequoia Parks Conservancy and New Roads School for a virtual reality experience through the Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park. Following the VR experience, there will be a talk on climate change and its effect on giant sequoias. During the event, you’ll wear specialized goggles and be transported to the Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park, “a place that will fill you with awe,” says the LA Times. You’ll also learn about the effect climate change is having on these magnificent trees and what park scientists are doing to manage ancient sequoias in a rapidly changing environment. Recently named Best National Park by Sunset Magazine, Sequoia National Park is home to some of the largest trees in the world, including the General Sherman Tree, the largest tree by volume on Earth, standing 275 feet tall and over 36 feet in diameter. We hope you will attend this one-of-a-kind journey and participate in this scientific discussion.
