“Stay Safe on PCH” Campaign
COLLISIONS ALONG PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY THE FOCUS OF NEW TRAFFIC SAFETY PROGRAM
The PCH Task Force will launch a multi-agency initiative designed to reduce the number of injuries and deaths to motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians along an iconic stretch of Pacific Coast Highway.
Law enforcement agencies reported 617 traffic collisions last year along PCH from the McClure Tunnel in Santa Monica to the Ventura County line. Funding for the program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to reduce traffic collisions through increased education, targeted enforcement and carefully engineered road improvements.
