Pacific Palisades Listening Session
About this event
Purpose and Overview
In the aftermath of the devastating 2025 Palisades Fire, the Pacific Palisades community is navigating the long, complex road to recovery. Palisades Recovery Coalition and Resilient Palisades have partnered with volunteers from Rand to launch a series of listening sessions where Palisadians from different neighborhoods can come together and begin to discuss what rebuilding with resilience looks like. This is the first of a series of community visioning charrettes sessions we will facilitate that will draw on nationally recognized methodologies for local resilience planning.
We plan to hold at least eight visioning sessions for the various neighborhoods of Pacific Palisades, allowing community members multiple opportunities to engage with friends and neighbors to think about how we rebuild Pacific Palisades. These "charrettes" aim to give residents a voice in shaping the future of their neighborhoods, balancing the urgent need to rebuild with opportunities for greater sustainability, fire resistance, and community cohesion. The charrettes will be rooted in deep local engagement and shared vision for rebuilding, keeping the character of each community.
Joining us to make these visioning exercises a success! See more information here.
Facilitators from the architectural and planning profession will conduct the working groups.
We thank the Red Cross, UCLA Luskin Center and the AIA Architecture for Communities for Los Angeles (ACLA) program.Frequently asked questions
