About Us

Chabad of Malibu is one of California’s most unique and unconventional Jewish Centers. Chabad is a popular center for Jews of all backgrounds who want to learn more about their Jewish roots. Located across from the Malibu Pier, overlooking the gorgeous Pacific Ocean, Chabad offers a wide variety of educational, spiritual, social and recreational opportunities. Traditional Jewish values are brought to life in a joyous, non-judgmental atmosphere.

Chabad serves all segments of the Jewish community. Everyone is welcome regardless of their personal level of religious observance. The philosophy is in keeping with the Chabad-Lubavitch approach of joy, scholarship and unconditional acceptance and love for every Jew.

Chabad is under the spiritual guidance of Rabbi Levi Cunin and Sarah Cunin. They came to Malibu 1994 with the approach is that Judaism must be presented and experienced in relevant context and made available to each individual on their own level. Rabbi Cunin and his wife Sarah are emissaries of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson of righteous memory.

Chabad offers “Judaism with a Smile,” and a home away from home for everyone who walks through its doors.
